Each year, the Swiss national science foundation (SNSF) organises an image competition. It encourages researchers to submit artistic snapshots that give a glimpse into their daily work, into the inner workings of science and the often unexpected beauty of research techniques. Since 2025, I have the pleasure of helping with the German image captures on Instagram, and for the 2026 edition also the image titles on the website gallery.
